Summary: This STI-7900 shifters replaced my STI-7801 ones. VERY comfortable. More so than 7801′s when on the hoods (holding onto them the artefact Pro’s do). Having feature preceding reviews, I prefabricated sure I would not effort with ordered up and rigging, so I also replaced every cables with Jagwire Racer’s rank ordered as well. I institute shifters to hit rattling smooth and fine operation, likewise a cleaner look. Set up and paraphernalia posed no issues. Performed flawlessly from the start. And for the record, side shifter downshifts threesome cogs when lever actuated threesome clicks, assorted I feature somewhere. 7800 brake calipers, in fact, operate/feel a little better now.
Strengths: Ergonomics/comfort, functionality, weight, looks, price. Seamless transition from 7801′s. They work exactly the aforementioned way. My richness regularize (personal preference).
Weaknesses: Little harder to establish the shift cable structure by the brake cable (though it results on a superbly cleaner look). Tape the brake structure first, then enter the shift housing. After you establish the bar tape, you module like the results. Jagwire, Gore, Shimano, listen: today that every systems separate both housings taped to the handlebar, you should display an whole threefold structure for the bar assets of them, to attain installation a breeze!!
